Coaches Report – Coach Kristin

Way to go at Union County! We have a lot of work to do in these next two weeks before Countryside. Please take advantage of the open gym this Sunday, 2/7/16  from 12:30-2:30. More gym time is always a positive.

Practice focus this week  is to do more physical training for our warm ups to help build strength and endurance for those hard to reach skills. We are also focusing on polishing our routines. Have your gymnast work on “mental sets” at home.  A little change can go a long way.  We are also setting specific skill based goals and event goals per gymnast. Goals we set are not expectations for our athletes but to give them specifics on what to work towards with evaluating them often. Goals can and should change.

Remember, gymnasts will progress at different rates. Success is measured by the individual’s own improvement.
